ACRE, who provide help and support to Village Halls, have revised their guidelines following the introduction of the rule of 6. In particular this seems to impact on Children’s parties. The following comes from their guidance:“Children’s birthday parties: Many families do not have the space for this at home. Large gatherings or celebrations are not permitted, neither is loud music or activity which would encourage shouting or singing. While children’s birthday parties are not banned, it is unlikely that keeping children in groups of 6 or less which do not mingle could be achieved, so currently not advised unless organised by someone used to managing this in a school or pre-school. A children’s party is permitted, however, if limited to one “qualifying group” or 6 or less people.“On this basis we have to review our rules. Any existing bookings will be sent the rules above and told that- it is their responsibility to stay within the law which means that qualifying groups of 6 (including children) cannot mingle with each other.- they should only go ahead if they are confident that they can manage under these rules- they will be fully refunded if they cancelNew bookings for children’s parties are currently on hold. We expect advice to change again soon and will continue to keep the situation under constant review.

Following an extensive review the Village Hall is now open for booking on a case by case basis, please enquire by e-mail

We now have hand sanitising stations in both lobbies, surface cleaners and wipes and a new cleaning routine on place. All people using the Hall must wear face coverings. We are also limiting numbers using the hall and applying social distancing in line with government guidance. Current guidance can be viewed by clicking here.
